The Importance of Core Exercises for Soccer Players

The Importance of Core Exercises for Soccer Players Spending a lot of time on the field? Our Pilates membership is for you. When most soccer players think about core training, they picture endless crunches, planks, or ab workouts designed to create a visible six-pack. The reality is that a strong core does far more than improve appearance. Your core is responsible for power and support between your upper and lower body, helping you stay balanced while changing direction, generating force during kicks, maintaining stability during physical challenges, and reducing strain on your back and hips. Pilates are also incredibly important to reduce injury. That is where the Mothr Method comes in. Why Elite Athletes Are Adding Pilates To Their Training From soccer players to golfers to professional dancers, elite athletes are embracing Pilates because it trains the body differently. It develops deep core strength, stability, control, and mobility while reducing unnecessary wear and tear on the joints. The result is better movement, better recovery, and a stronger foundation for athletic performance. Why the Mothr Method Works So Well for Soccer Players At Mothr, we train for results. The Mothr Method combines intentional fatigue, continuous tension, slow tempo training, and higher repetitions to create deep muscular engagement throughout every workout. This constant tension helps recruit more muscle fibers, build strength, improve endurance, and develop the type of stability athletes need on and off the field. For soccer players, this means: Stronger core stability during matches Better balance and body control Improved posture and movement efficiency Increased hip and glute strength Greater muscular endurance Reduced risk of injuries Effective Pilates that works. Our online membership makes it so easy to get your workouts done on the go. Even during your busiest season. Train Anywhere, Stay Consistent Everywhere One of the biggest advantages of the Mothr Method for soccer players is flexibility. Whether you are training during the season, traveling for tournaments, away at school, or balancing practices with work and family life, consistency matters. Our workouts can be taken virtually from anywhere. No matter how busy your schedule gets, you’ll benefit from our online Pilates classes. Your strength training does not have to stop when your schedule gets busy or when you are away from your home gym. All you need is enough space to move and a commitment to showing up. This makes it easier to maintain core strength throughout the season, stay consistent during the off-season, and support recovery between games without adding another commute to your schedule. Stronger Core, Better Performance The strongest soccer players are not always the ones spending hours doing crunches or lifting heavy weights. They are the athletes building functional strength, stability, endurance, and control throughout their entire body. Pilates delivers all of those benefits while helping you move better, perform better, and stay stronger for longer. With the Mothr Method, every workout is designed to challenge your muscles through intentional fatigue and continuous tension, creating real strength that carries over into sport and everyday life. Start your 7-day free trial and discover how strength-first Pilates can help you build a stronger core and a stronger game.

Why Protein Matters More Than You Think as You Get Older

Mothr protein

Why Protein Matters More Than You Think as You Get Older Here we go… The protein debate…how much is really enough?   I have been doing strength-focused Mothr Pilates workouts consistently for over a decade. I do my workouts 3 to 4 times a week now and take more recovery days because I’m 53 and my bod needs to rest more. My body is healthy and strong overall. But one thing I was not paying enough attention to was protein. Not obsessively, not with spreadsheets or food scales, just basic awareness.   Because here is what quietly starts happening as we age: Muscle mass naturally declines with age Body composition changes faster in your 40s and beyond Muscle loss accelerates after menopause Recovery and strength maintenance become more important over time These changes are well established in exercise physiology research. The part many women do not realize is that strength training alone is not the full equation. Protein matters too. What Protein Actually Does Protein is made up of amino acids, which help repair and build muscle tissue after training. When you strength train, including resistance-based Pilates workouts, your muscles experience stress. Your body then repairs that tissue during recovery. Protein gives you the building blocks for that process. Without enough protein, it’s harder for the body to maintain muscle, recover efficiently, build strength over time, and support healthy aging. This does not mean you need extreme diets or restrictive eating habits. It means your body needs enough fuel to support the work you are already doing. Why Protein Needs Change With Age One important detail that often gets overlooked is that protein needs can increase as we age. Research suggests that active adults, especially older adults, may benefit from higher protein intake to support muscle maintenance and recovery. A commonly recommended range for active individuals is approximately 1.2 to 1.6 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day. For many active women, that can work out to roughly 80 to 100 grams of protein daily. This is not about chasing perfection. It is about understanding what your body actually needs to support strength and muscle over time. What Enough Protein Can Actually Look Like A lot of people hear “100 grams of protein” and assume it means eating chicken breast all day. In reality, it often looks much more manageable than people expect.   Examples of protein-rich foods include: Greek yogurt Cottage cheese Eggs and egg whites Fish Chicken Lean cuts of beef Protein-rich snacks or puddings A realistic day might look like: Greek yogurt with almond butter at breakfast Egg salad with extra egg whites at lunch Cottage cheese or yogurt as a snack Fish, chicken, or steak at dinner You do not necessarily need to track every gram…I don’t. Getting used to seeing what it looks like helps. Because many women are unintentionally under-eating protein without realizing. We want to eat enough to support our overall health and lifestyle. Protein Alone Is Not the Answer This part matters. Protein is not magic because muscle is not built from protein alone, and supplements or high-protein meals do not replace training.   Results come from combining: Consistent resistance training Progressive overload Adequate recovery Enough protein to support the process That combination is what helps maintain and build muscle over time. Protein without the work is just expensive grocery shopping. The Good News About Muscle Loss Muscle loss with aging is common, but research shows it is not inevitable. Strength training combined with adequate protein intake can help maintain muscle mass, improve strength, support mobility and balance, and improve long-term physical function. In many cases, age-related muscle decline can be slowed significantly and partially reversed with consistent training and nutrition habits. That is the encouraging part. Small changes repeated consistently matter more than perfection. What We Focus on at Mothr The Mothr Method uses continuous tension, high reps, and minimal rest to build real strength. This means: Progressive overload Time under tension Controlled reps Minimal rest Training close to fatigue That is what creates the challenge, your muscles need to adapt. The goal is not just movement. The goal is strength. Protein supports that process. The training drives it. Ready to Experience the Mothr Method? If you want workouts designed to build real strength through intentional, challenging Pilates, the Mothr Membership gives you access to full-body strength-focused classes you can do from home or anywhere. Creatine for Women: What It Actually Does and Whether You Should Take It

protein mothr pilates

Creatine for Women: What It Actually Does and Whether You Should Take It Creatine is the most researched supplement in fitness. It’s also the most misunderstood, mostly because it’s been marketed to men for decades and women have been handed watered-down “tone and lean” messaging instead of actual science. Let’s fix that. Your body already makes creatine. It’s stored in your muscles and used to fuel short, explosive, high-effort movements; exactly the kind of work that builds strength. Exercise science has known this for a long time. What’s newer is the growing conversation about what it means specifically for women. Before we go further, if you haven’t tried the Mothr Method yet, grab your FREE 7-day trial and see what strength-based Pilates actually feels like. How Creatine Actually Works Creatine isn’t something you feel on day one. It works by gradually saturating your muscles; increasing the stored energy available during high-effort training. That means consistency beats timing every time. Taking it before versus after your workout makes essentially no meaningful difference. Taking it daily does. Think of it less like a pre-workout hit and more like a long game. What It Can Actually Help With Done consistently alongside real training, creatine can support: • Increased strength output • Better performance across reps • Faster recovery between sets Over time, training harder and recovering better leads to stronger, more defined muscle. But creatine doesn’t build anything on its own. It helps you do the work that does. What About Brain and Mood? There’s emerging research on creatine and cognitive function, particularly around sleep deprivation and mental fatigue. Some of it is genuinely interesting. But the results are inconsistent and aren’t backed by solid evidence yet for the general population. Worth watching, not worth leading with. How to Take It • 3–5 grams per day • Creatine monohydrate, powder form is ideal, (however this bloats me so I’m now trying the gummies.) • No loading phase required • No fancy timing Creatine monohydrate is the most studied, most reliable, most cost-effective form available. Anything more complex than that is usually just marketing. What Most People Get Wrong Creatine gets sold like a shortcut. It doesn’t replace hard training, it doesn’t compensate for low effort, and it doesn’t work if your workouts aren’t actually challenging you. It supports the work. It cannot substitute for it. Why I Stopped And Why I’m Reconsidering Personally, I experienced uncomfortable bloating when taking creatine in the powder format — which can be a real and documented side effect, though not universal. A friend found that creatine gummies didn’t cause the same issue. Research still puts powder as the gold standard, but I’m curious enough to test that comparison myself. Brand quality also matters more than people realize. Low-quality creatine with fillers can cause GI issues that have nothing to do with creatine itself. Why This Matters at Mothr At Mothr, we’re not interested in shortcuts. The Mothr Method is built on high reps, low rest, controlled tempo, and training to fatigue; the stuff that actually changes your body. Creatine can support that process. It cannot replace it. If your training is already challenging you, creatine is worth considering. If it’s not, start there first. Ready to train the Mothr way? Start your FREE 7-day trial.

How To Do A Pilates Plank Correctly

Mothr PLANKS

How To Do A Pilates Plank Correctly (And Why Most People Do It Wrong) Everyone who does Pilates knows about the plank, but most do it wrong. Most people hold it. Most people rush through it. Most people miss the point completely. A proper plank builds a stronger core, better posture, and real results. But only if you do it right. If you want to learn the difference for yourself, you can start with a FREE 7-day trial of The MOTHR Method. What the Plank Is Actually Training We are not just talking about abs. We are talking about your core as a system. Your deep abs, your glutes, your shoulders, and your stabilizers. Everything works together. A strong core supports how you stand, how you move, and how you carry yourself. It shows up in your posture. It shows up in your strength. It shows up in your body. The Biggest Mistake I See in Class I see hips too low. Lower back taking over. When your hips drop, you are no longer in your core. You are dumping into your lower back. Low hips put pressure on your lower back, reduce core engagement, and can lead to pain. It might feel like you are working harder. You are not. You are just putting strain where it does not belong. This is something you need to fix if you want real results. What a Proper Plank Actually Looks Like This is how you do a proper plank: Core braced. Ribs pulled in. Glutes engaged. Hips slightly lifted, not sagging. Neck long. Armpits directly angled over the hands. You should feel your entire core working. Not just your shoulders. Not your lower back. Static Plank vs Dynamic Plank Holding a plank has its place. But it is not enough. At MOTHR, we do not just hold a plank. We move through it. Movement keeps your muscles under tension longer. Movement increases intensity. Movement delivers results faster. This is where it changes. This Is How We Train in The Mothr Method We use a plank as a working position, not a resting one. We include shoulder taps, plank to pike, knee drives, hip dips, controlled transitions, planks with weights and forearm planks with movement. High reps. Minimal rest. Continuous tension. That is HOW you build strength. What This Actually Does for Your Body When the plank is done properly, it delivers. A flatter lower belly. A stronger, more stable core. Better posture. Reduced back pain. More defined arms and shoulders. Not from holding longer. From working harder. If You Feel This, Fix It Pay attention to what your body is telling you. Lower back pain. Your hips are too low. Neck strain & if your head is dropping. Only feeling your shoulders. Your core is not engaged enough. If you feel any of these, adjust, reset, and continue. Form first. Then intensity. This Is How We Train at MOTHR This is not random Pilates. This is a method: High reps. Compound moves. Minimal rest. Time under tension. We train your muscles close to fatigue, and then push a little further. That is how bodies change. If you want to feel the difference for yourself, you can start with a FREE 7-day trial of The MOTHR Method.

Time Under Tension: Why Your Workouts Aren’t Working.

How to build real strength without lifting heavy.

Time Under Tension: Why Your Workouts Aren’t Working. How to build real strength without lifting heavy. If you’ve been to any of my Pilates classes, you’ve likely heard me say Pilates is strength training. (When done properly.) Not soft movement, not just stretching, not just flexibility or posture, it’s real strength. So, let’s talk about it. Before I dive in and talk about time under tension, get your 7-day FREE trial to experience the Mothr Method here. What Is Time Under Tension? Time under tension, or TUT, is how long your muscle is actively working during a set. Not how heavy the weight is. Not how fast you finish. Just how long the muscle stays engaged.   Research shows that keeping a muscle working for about 30 to 60 seconds can help build strength and endurance, even with lighter weights. Why It Works So Well in Pilates When done properly, it keeps your muscles working longer without relying on heavy weights. Slow tempo keeps movements controlled. Higher reps extend the time your muscles stay active. Minimal rest keeps the tension going. This is the goal. Add ankle weights, pulses, or isometric holds, and the intensity increases quickly. Your muscles do not get a break & that’s the point.   You Don’t Need Heavy Weights Muscle change comes from tension, not just load. This is one of the biggest misconceptions in fitness. You can lift heavy, but if your muscles are not under tension long enough, the effect is limited. Pilates uses control, range, and duration to keep muscles engaged. This creates strength while reducing stress on your joints. You feel the work without needing to lift heavy. Compound vs Isolation in Pilates Both matter, but they are not the same. Isolation exercises target one area at a time. Think of a movement like a teaser that focuses on the core. Compound movements do more. They combine multiple muscle groups at once. Core, glutes, shoulders, legs working together. This increases total muscle recruitment. It also makes your workouts more efficient. The MOTHR Method leans into compound, full-body flows. More strength across the entire body. What This Means for Your Results When your muscles stay under tension longer, they have to work harder. They fatigue. More muscle fibers join the effort. That is where change starts to happen. This is how you build: A stronger core Lifted glutes Athletic arms Better posture A body that feels capable Not by rushing through reps. This is when you experience The Mothr Method. Start your FREE trial today.

The Truth About Rest Days

mothr rest day blogs

The Truth About Rest Days (And Why Your Body Needs Them) There’s a belief in fitness that if you work out every day, you’ll get results faster. More workouts. More sweat. More progress. Except that’s not how the body actually works. Training hard every day without recovery often slows progress down. Your body doesn’t build strength during the workout. It builds strength after the workout. And that only happens when you recover.   Strength Doesn’t Happen During the Workout When you train hard, Pilates included, your muscles experience stress. Tiny microscopic damage happens inside the muscle fibers when you push them close to fatigue. It’s actually how strength training works. But here’s the part most people forget: Muscles repair and rebuild during recovery. That’s when the body adapts. That’s when strength improves.   If you skip recovery and just keep pushing, you don’t speed things up. You just stack fatigue. Eventually workouts feel heavier. Energy drops. Progress stalls. Not because you’re lazy. Because your body never got the chance to rebuild.   Rest Days Aren’t Lazy. They’re Strategic. Some days should challenge you. Some days should allow your body to recover from that challenge. That balance is what actually builds strength. Doing more workouts without rest doesn’t automatically make you stronger. Training smarter does.   What a Rest Day Looks Like Sometimes recovery or rest days looks like: • a long walk • stretching • getting outside • or simply doing sweet FA And honestly? I don’t exercise every day. Some days I train hard. Some days I walk. Some days I do ZERO movement. Because I know when I come back to train, I’ll be stronger PLUS, I just listen to my body and know I don’t have to workout every dang day.   Why Recovery Matters Even More for Women Over 40 As we get older, recovery becomes even more important. Hormonal changes, shifts in metabolism, and the gradual decline in muscle mass mean the body needs the right balance of training and recovery to adapt. Strength training helps preserve muscle, support bone health, and improve body composition. But those benefits only happen if the body has the time it needs to rebuild. Skipping rest days doesn’t speed things up. It usually slows progress down.   The MOTHR Approach to Strength At MOTHR Pilates, the goal isn’t endless workouts. It’s effective workouts. The kind that challenges your muscles enough to create change, without wasting your time. Train hard. Recover well. Repeat. That’s how strength is built. And that’s exactly how the MOTHR method works. Ready to Train Smarter? You don’t need longer workouts. You need workouts that actually challenge your muscles. And a program designed to help your body get stronger. Start your 7-day FREE trial of MOTHR Pilates and experience the difference. Healthy Nutrition for Women Over 40

Healthy Nutrition for Women Over 40: Protein, Strength & Simple Habits That Work (And Why I Don’t Obsess) I don’t diet. I don’t count macros. And I don’t eliminate entire food groups just because they’re suddenly unpopular. I’ve always had a BIG sweet tooth. Healthy nutrition for women over 40 does not require obsession. It requires clarity. I enjoy sweets. I enjoy spicy margaritas. I enjoy white wine. And I have no interest in tracking every bite of food that goes into my mouth. What I care about is strength. Real, usable, everyday strength. Healthy nutrition for women should support your ability to live fully; not shrink your life down to rules. In this blog, I’m sharing the principles I try to follow (most of the time!) I Don’t Need Trendy. I Need Strong If you spend five minutes on social media, you’ll see a new nutrition trend promising faster fat loss, flatter stomachs, or a total transformation. That’s not healthy nutrition for women. My goal isn’t to chase trends. My goal is to: Maintain lean muscle Support my metabolism Protect my energy Stay strong for decades I want to shovel snow without pulling my back. I want to carry groceries on one trip. I want to lift my suitcase into the overhead bin without asking for help. That kind of strength requires nourishment, not restriction. What Changes After 40 Healthy nutrition for women over 40 has to reflect reality: Metabolism naturally slows slightly with age. Muscle mass declines if you are not actively strength training. Overall calorie needs decrease a bit. Protein needs increase. Without resistance training and enough protein intake, we tend to gradually lose lean muscle, and that loss impacts metabolism, bone health, and overall functional strength.Aging is just a number. We don’t have to let a number define us, and we certainly don’t need to follow complicated diets or trends. Strength training combined with sufficient protein supports better body composition, preserves lean muscle, and helps you stay powerful in your everyday life. Portions Matter More With Age I don’t weigh my food or track every gram. But I understand that healthy nutrition for women over 40 requires awareness. Energy needs shift. Recovery shifts. Hormones shift. Most of my meals are built simply: Heavy on fruits and vegetables (I like lots of fiber) Protein is often present (but I never count the grams) I do not weigh my food or track every gram, but I know that portions matter more now than they did in my twenties because my energy needs have shifted. It gets to be that simple. Most of my plates are structured simply.  My plates are heavy with vegetables. Protein is often present. I focus on getting volume from plants and pairing it with adequate protein, so that I feel satisfied without overeating. Vegetables and fruit provide fiber, antioxidants that help with fullness and digestion, while protein supports muscle maintenance, blood sugar stability, and satiety. We need to talk more about Fiber and I have the perfect blog for you if you want to learn more. It is not complicated, it’s consistent effort. So remember, healthy nutrition for women doesn’t mean you don’t get to enjoy the things you love. I love sweets and I eat sweets every day. Why Protein Matters More Now If you’ve spent some time researching healthy nutrition for women, you’ve probably read about the importance of protein. Protein supports lean muscle, helps stabilize blood sugar, and keeps you fuller for longer, which becomes even more important as hormones shift in your forties. My Pilates based classes, plus protein and fiber, equal better muscle preservation and better long-term results. I Do Not Obsess I do not eliminate foods I genuinely enjoy because long-term health is about sustainability, not perfection. Obsession creates stress, and stress will affect your sleep, hormones, and recovery, which ultimately undermines strength and overall well-being. If you cut off something you really enjoy, you’ll feel restricted and have resentment instead of enjoying the process. When most of my meals are structured around vegetables, protein, fiber and whole foods, there is room for enjoyment without guilt. I say I am 70% good most of the time. Consistency beats perfection every time. I Care More About Strength (It’s Not About Being “Skinny”) I strength train so I can move a couch if I need to, lift heavy things without hesitation, carry what needs to be carried, and feel powerful in my own body instead of fragile or hesitant. This should be the standard. The Bottom Line Healthy nutrition for women over 40 is not about cutting more. It’s about preserving more. Preserve muscle. Preserve metabolism. Preserve capability. Preserve confidence. Strength or resistance training and smart nutrition work together. “Healthy nutrition” means something different for everyone. Ultimately, do whatever the heck works for you! If you’re ready to train in a way that supports healthy nutrition for women and builds real-world strength, MOTHR Pilates is designed for you. Start your 7-day FREE trial and build strength that lasts. xx MOTHR

In this article, I am sharing more details. What It Looks Like To Do Pilates Anywhere Pilates anywhere means you don’t need a studio, fancy equipment, or even much space. Thanks to the versatility of Pilates movements, you can: Doing a quick mat session (think about abs or glutes) in your living room before your day starts. Doing one of our full body Pilates videos when the kids are occupied with arts or sports. Using everyday moments like waiting for dinner to cook to fire up your core. Taking your favorite MOTHR Pilates class during your lunch break because that’s when you can fit it into your routine that day. Benefits of Staying Consistent With Pilates Anywhere When you commit to doing Pilates anywhere, the results go beyond just having done another workout; you’ll get noticeable results. It changes how your body feels, how you move through daily life, and how sustainable fitness becomes long-term. Pilates is built around controlled, intentional movement that activates deep core muscles often missed in traditional workouts. When you practice consistently, you start strengthening muscles that support your spine, hips, and pelvis. This helps to get better posture without constantly reminding yourself to stand up straight. Over time, you may notice less tension in your neck and shoulders, more stability through your midsection, and improved alignment during everyday activities like sitting at a desk, carrying groceries, or lifting your kids. Because these Pilates based moves focus on quality and effective movements, even shorter, regular sessions can create noticeable changes in strength and posture. A lot of people find that Pilates becomes a form of moving meditation. It gives you space to reconnect with yourself, release stress, and feel grounded even on busy or overwhelming days. Whether you have 10 minutes or a full hour, you can still show up, move your body, and do a session that actually works and will benefit you. Here are some tips to help you stay consistent. Set a specific time and choose a time that feels natural for movement. That could be the first thing in the morning or right after lunch. Start with what you love. Whether it’s a short Pilates video to energize your morning or a longer session because you feel the burn and get excited about the results, that’s great. As long as you do what works for you. Keep it simple and repeatable. Even short Pilates sessions done regularly add up. Just keep your body engaged and focus during the session so you get the most out of it. Use visual cues and reminders. Put your mat where you’ll SEE IT, set a daily alarm, or book your session on your calendar. Small cues help make fitness a habit. Integrate Pilates Into Your Daily Life Staying consistent with workouts doesn’t have to be hard, complicated, or time-consuming, especially when you embrace the concept of Pilates anywhere. With MOTHR Pilates, you get powerful, intentional sessions designed to fit your life and keep you moving no matter what your day looks like. Browse our Pilates videos today and become a member. Pilates Videos That Work

Pilates Videos That Work and How to Choose Routines That Actually Deliver Results You’ve likely seen a lot of Pilates content online. But, how do you find something you know will work and get you results? Many people struggle to find Pilates videos that really work and get them real results. If you want results that last, it helps to understand what separates effective Pilates videos from the rest. What Pilates Videos That Work Actually Have in Common Pilates based workouts work best when they focus on control and purposeful movement. It’s not about looking pretty and doing something half “A”. Pilates that works and get real results are hard! Pilates videos that work also emphasize muscle engagement with controlled movements that push you hard to muscle fatigue. Intense moves that isolate a muscle group or compound movements that gets you using multiple muscle groups. These Pilates based workouts are designed to support the body as a whole, and yes, they will make you sweat. Where Some Pilates Videos Fall Short (In My Opinion) Many popular Pilates videos don’t work you hard enough. Your muscles need time under tension. Time under tension works in Pilates because it is keeping muscles engaged longer and  creates deeper fatigue, which drives strength and endurance gains. Controlled movement also recruits stabilizing muscles, making the work more effective without heavy weights. Another issue is inconsistency. Random workouts with no progression make it hard for the body to adapt and grow stronger. Pilates videos that work are intentional. Each movement has a purpose. Each routine fits into a bigger picture. Mothr Pilates videos are HARD but effective, this is why my members see results. They know it’s hard, but they know it’s worth it and they know they can get into a big muscle burner in a 15 minute workout. You don’t have to workout an hour every day. How to Choose Pilates Videos That Work at Home When choosing an at-home Pilates workout, think about your goal and think about how much time you can commit daily. Some days will not look the same, and that’s okay. Then, browse the library of videos and do the workout that best fits your goals. Another thing to look for is someone who’s built a community. This is a clear indication that the workouts are effective and the community has trust in the instructor. When looking at the instructors’ social media, if the content resonates with you, it’s a good sign that you’ll also like their teaching style. Pilates Anywhere Does Not Mean Low Quality One of the biggest benefits of Pilates is flexibility. You can practice Pilates anywhere, whether at home, while traveling, or during a busy day. Quality Pilates videos are designed with real life in mind. They offer different time lengths. They require little or no equipment. They fit easily into your schedule. Pilates anywhere works when routines are built to be repeatable and realistic. This is where Mothr Pilates comes in. Consistency Is More Important Than Workout Length Long workouts are not required for progress. Consistency matters far more. Get into the habit of moving, doing your daily Pilates class, and you’ll see more results than if you only did one class here and there with no consistency. Consistency builds strength gradually. The results may feel subtle at first, but they compound over time, and they are visible! You will love the results, and the more you see results, the more you’ll show up and take more classes. How to Tell If Your Pilates Videos Are Working Progress is not always dramatic, but it is noticeable. You may feel stronger and more supported through your core. Your posture may improve. You may notice inches lost around your waist and your core getting stronger. Movement may feel smoother and more controlled. If your at-home Pilates workout leaves you feeling confident and energized rather than rushed or confused, that is a good sign. Then the physical signs will come, you notice more changes with your body, and that’s where it can get exciting. Investing In The Right Pilates Videos Pilates is not a quick fix. It is a long-term movement practice. It’s a lifestyle you will love. Pilates videos that work help build strength, mobility, and body awareness that support you through different seasons of life. When you choose routines intentionally, Pilates becomes something you can sustain without burnout or frustration. The most effective Pilates videos are not always the trendiest. They are well-structured and designed for consistency. They are hard, and you will feel the burn. If you are searching for Pilates videos that work, focus on quality instruction, thoughtful programming, and routines that fit into real life. That is where results actually come from. You will LOVE being a member of our community. You are home here, and I can’t wait to celebrate your Pilates success with you.  xx MOTHR

My One Daily Healthy Ritual for 4 Years

A large pot simmering on a stovetop filled with warm water, sliced yellow lemons, knobs of fresh ginger, and orange turmeric root. Steam rises gently from the pot

My One Daily Healthy Ritual for 4 Years  I am not a wellness saint. I drink wine. I love sweets and chips. But there’s one healthy ritual I’ve done almost every day (more so in the winter) for the past four years: And that’s a big, simmering pot of warm lemon, ginger, and turmeric water that sits on my stove from morning until night. I top it up with boiling water, throw in fresh ginger knobs, squeeze in more lemon, and sip it before coffee, and anytime I want something that tastes good and feels healing. It’s simple, affordable, and this little elixir warms my soul. Does this actually do anything? Is there science behind it? Apparently, yes.  I think drinking this and frequent exercise prevents me from getting sick. Vitamin C + Antioxidants: Why Lemon Helps Support Immunity Lemon water isn’t magic, but it’s rich in vitamin C, which plays a key role in supporting the immune system and protecting cells from oxidative stress. Nutrition experts say lemon water can: Support immune function through steady vitamin C intake Provide additional antioxidants from lemon peel and pulp Help reduce oxidative stress in skin cells Boost collagen thanks to citrus polyphenols Does it prevent sickness entirely? No. But steady vitamin C + hydration = a great foundation for resilience. Ginger: Gut Support, Bloating Relief, and Natural Anti-Inflammatory Power Ginger has been studied for its ability to support digestion and help with bloating, indigestion, and gut motility. Experts note that ginger-infused water can: Stimulate digestion Reduce heartburn, gas, and bloating Hydrate the colon to support regularity Offer antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds Turmeric: Curcumin for Inflammation + Joint Support Curcumin, the active compound in turmeric, has been widely researched for its anti-inflammatory effects. Studies suggest it may support: Joint mobility Post-exercise recovery The body’s natural response to inflammation Gut Microbiome Support  According to nutrition experts: Lemon water can stimulate bile and gastric juices, which helps digestion It may support the gut microbiome thanks to citrus fiber (when the peel is included) It can help relieve mild constipation by improving gut transit time Skin Benefits Apparently, antioxidants found in lemon peels can help: Reduce free radical damage Support collagen Provide anti-aging benefits This is NOT a “glow drink,” but consistent hydration + antioxidants may just show up in your skin. Does sipping lemon water calm your nervous system? Not directly, but the ritual, the scent, the warmth creates a cozy, grounding effect that I simply love! Hydration: The Most Underrated Benefit Experts say lemon water: Encourages you to drink more Adds flavor, making hydration easier Hydrates you more consistently throughout the day Warm water also absorbs faster and feels gentler on the stomach. A few things to keep in mind: Lemon water can erode enamel It may worsen acid reflux in sensitive people It does not “detox your liver” (your liver detoxes itself) Timing doesn’t matter; you don’t need to drink it on an empty stomach I love this daily ritual that helps me feel hydrated, grounded, warm, and connected to my body.I hope you try it and like it as much as I do!  xx MOTHR
